well,flu jabs done their stuff,both mum and myself feeling awful,both sniffling away lol. sure its coincidence. if it stops us getting flu,worth it. not too happy,was supposed to hear from Sally,social worker who does carers assessments,someone supposed to be ringing me to confirm a date when we are meeting. today i thought,betterr ring and see whats happening,so rang her office. to be told,1) she's on holiday for 2 weeks,and 2) nothing in her diary about arranging a meeting with me. had i filled a form in? yes weeks ago i replied calmly and sweetly. well she said we got no trace of it,i'd best send you another,fill it in,post it back,and we'll be in touch. so,im still none the bloody nearer,has now been nearly 11 weeks since i first requested it. she did ask,can you continue to care for your mother? ummm,yes. just a bit of help would be nice.
no wonder so many people complain about red tape and bureaucracy,the phrase too many chiefs and not enough indians springs to mind. so i await yet another form to fill in,more postage wasted by them,at least they do supply pre-paid envelope,and my blood pressure starting to boil nicely.lol. i really need this assessment,as i cant call myself mums official carer until its done. my fault,should've done it years ago. but when it's your mum you don't bother. if i have to go in hospital,as happened recently,i have to rely on friends to help,if im assessed theres help available to me.
did have that nice O T student ring,to ask if shower seat fitted. also going to be done is bathroom door being widened,as wheelchair wont pass through it. i know mums using frame to get about indoors,but she is getting worse on her feet. so,bit fed up by the whole thing.
