tyred,but not out

Today  was the day every owner of an oldish car dreads.the annual MOT. Im lucky,my best friend Pam knows  someone who is brilliant at repairs,fully  trained mechanic,worked  for years  in  garage  in  Holt,until he  started  up his own business.now,hes so busy  you  need  to book  well  in advance.as he  lives  2 minutes  from Pams,it's ideal  for  me,means  i  get  made  coffee   and  somewhere  warm to  wait. had  to  get  car  to  him  by  8,Tracy kindly  got  at  mine  at  6.40  to  get  mum  up  and  dressed,i  gave  her  breakfast,washed  up,and  went  off,to  meet  my  doom.lol.  a  neighbor  had  kindly  agreed  to  look  in  on  mum  for  me,so  no  worries  there.

  Much  to  my  surprise,and  i  admit  the  mechanics,it  PASSED.  just  advisory note,both  front  tyres  scrubbed and    worn  on  inside,tracking  is  out.  most  probably  done  3  weeks  ago,when  i  had  to   go  up  hedge  to  avoid  a  charming  holidaymaker  coming  towards  me.   please  note,we  have  a  lot  of  country  roads  in  norfolk,very  few  have  white  lines  down  centre.  this  does  NOT mean  you  can  take  whole  of  bloody  road  up.   So,a  grand  total  of  £73  to  pay,not  bad  considering  ive  had  the  car 5  months,and  only  paid  £100 for  it.P reg.Fiesta,decent  condition,but  for  a  filthy  dirty  interior.which a lot  of  vaxing,steaming,cleaning,new seat  covers, helped  to  look  decent.   so,happy  mort.and  home   to  mum  a  lot  sooner  than  i  thought.

  As  i  was  home  early,we  went  off  to  fakenham  for  some  shopping,and  as  i  had  spent  considerably  less  than  anticipated,even   fish  and  chips  for  tea.  a  rare  treat  these  days.  when  did  fish   and  chips  become  so  dear  lol.  when  i  was   a  lad,(  ok   bloody  long  while  ago.)  you  used  to  ask  for  a  fish  n  6.   sixpennorth of  chips,large  cod.1/6d    7.5p.        really  am  getting  old.  any  one ever  in  Fakenham,norfolk  try  Drifters   fish  n  chips,down  Oak  street.  best  ive  ever  tasted. all  in  all,not  bad  day. 

As  a  by  the  way,theres  been  no sign  of  the  carers  assessment  form  that  was  going  in  the  post   there  and  then,1st  class post,be  with you  tomorrow.should  have  remembered.  Tomorrow  never  comes.    Take  care  all.
