WISHING EVERYONE A VERY HAPPY,PEACEFUL,AND PROSPEROUS 2009.
2008 has been a mix of good and bad. we lost jland.but we found blogspot.ok,it will never be the same but we are still here, still writng our hopes, our fears.sharing with others our lives and sharing in theirs.many of us found facebook, bebo, yearbook,so many other networking sites.new friends made. and sadly for some, friends and loved ones lost.emma in particular affected me more than even her mum knows.not that i am scared i will go like that,it is very rare for that to happen, but lucy umderstands.and lucy, you are one of the best things to come out of 2008,thankyou for your friendship.and nagging.lol.
For myself 2008 was strange.i finally accepted the MS,finally claimed all i was, and have been, entitled too, then had a bloody heart attack to round the year off.typical.lol.mum continues in reasonable health, her arthritis is bad,her gout comes and goes, thankfully not quite as bad as it was.she is getting more and more forgetful bless her.worryingly forgetful.but she is 88 on january 3rd.and she is allowed to be a bit forgetful at times.while i can i shall remain her carer.she is content i think, and hope. i have a new car to look forward to,i signed the papers yesterday and it should be here soon.i have made many new friends this year.thanks to you all,and may you all find peace and happiness in your own lives.take care all

To my very dearest friend, Mort you are like a beacon to me. I lean on you to be able to talk about Alan because You understand and I do understand and worry when you have problems, more than usual. You will not go like Emma and Alan, I will not allow it. I need you to boot me in the rear and bring me to my senses, and you do. I do hope your mum will have you for her carer till the end of her days, bless her. Tale care Mort. Lucy

Hey Mort, I think I said Happy New Year at Facebook, but if I didn't, Happy New Year over here, LOL. Anyway, yes, 2008 was quite a year, wasn't it? Wow, who thought even 1/4 of the things would have happened, nevertheless all that did? Weird. Never in a million years would I have suspected some of them. You and Donna both had heart attacks. Some died. AOL journalers went to BloggerLand. I became angry trying to figure out Blogger, LOL. I don't get angry, LOL.
Which brings me to what I wanted to talk to you about real quick. Without trying to sound high and mighty. The biggest thing that happened to me this year was I had an attitude change. I decided to be positive. Everything won't always turn out great, but my reaction to things can be positive. And you know what else, there is a lot of things we do have control over. No, not things like MS or heart attacks or caretaking duties (as you and I both know -- you with a mother to take care of, and me with a husband who had a bone marrow transplant, who I also take care of a lot). Those things we cannot change, except our attitudes toward how we will handle them.
But we can change a lot of things in our lives. We can see what we want to change and make our lives better. We can work toward change. We can set goals. That is what I am doing right now. Evaluating my life and finally moving on. Not making anymore excuses. Allowing myself to be the person God wants me to be. No, I'm not trying to be Norman Vincent Peale, LOL. Just trying to be the best me I can be, and helping others along the way. And loving God. Hope that makes sense.
And I'm sure you are doing the same. :)
I hope this year will be a good one for you. You've been a good friend, and you put a smile on my face when I need it. Take care buddy. :)
