rain again,more pain

i took car into  garage at 8.30,just  small garage,not far from  my  best friend pam,so  went round  hers  to  wait,and   have a coffee.  brian  had booked  it  in for  me,as  he  said  if  i  didnt  get  tracking  sorted im  going  to  ruin  new  tyres.  mechanic  said  would  be  done  by  11,took  my  mobile  number  and  i  walked  to  pams.   hadnt  been  round hers  long and  phone  rang,garage,    bad  news   said  he         reason  its   cutting  out  tyres  is       steering  ball  joint  gone.  no  wonder  it's  been  rattling  all  this   while.   going  to  be  done   friday  after  xmas,but  instead  of  a  bill  of  about  30 quid            it  will  be  about  £150.    oh  dear.           really  cant  afford  it,but  it  must  be  done.   so,more  bad  luck.  the  really  worrying  thing  is..............MOT  was   end  october,passed,just  advisory  that  tyres  were  worn,being  scrubbed on  inside,tracking   prob.out.           it  should  never  have   passed.       and  the  mechanic  who  does  my  car,should  have  seen   it  was  gone  before  he  took  it  to  be  MOT'd.  also,the  drive  shaft  gaiter  is  missing  a  clip,again,its  obvious   it's  been  missing  a  long  time,and  again,that  is  an  MOT  fail.  not  happy.

anyway,at  least  i  was  home  in  good  time,and  ready  for housing   trust  health  and  safety  lady,and  contractors  manager   to arrive.  dead  on  time  too.   both  inspected  the  work  on  bathroom  door,looked  at  gap under  door,and         agreed  with  me.  dangerous.    further,it  was  pointed  out  that if  anyone  fell  near  the  toilet,no one  could  get  in,as  door  opened  too  close  to  toilet  pan.   i  had  told surveyor  that.!!!   contractor  did  try  and  tell  me  the  gap  was  so  door  would  open  over  toilet  mat.  yeah  right       lol.    anyway,it's  been  decided  we  are  going  to  have  a  concertina  type   folding  door  on  it,so  that  will  give lot  more  space  inside  bathroom.  i  am  quite  happy  with  that.  also,going  to  tidy  up  wall,prepare  it ready  for  me  to  paper,and  paint  the  frame.          also,going  to  replace  the  new  fan  in  there,used  to  be  a  moisture  sensor  type,if  steamy  from  shower,or  damp  atmosphere   it  started  itself,also  if  light  switched on,it  came on  automatically,and  continued  to  run  5  mins.after  switched  off.         when   i  had  rewire  few  months  ago  (memory  of  which  far  far  too  painful  to  contemplate  lol)  it  was  replaces   by  a  fan  which  only  works if  you  pull  its  switch  chord,goes  off  as  soon  as  it is  turned  off,no  sensor,and  bloody   useless.   bathroom  is  already  going  black  from  mould.         so  thats  good.

  writng this at 1am,    soon  going  to  bed,  had  bad  night  last  night,im  getting  a  lot  of  pain,  MS  or  whatever  it  is  has  flared  up  with  a  vengeance.  must  know  im  going  to  hospital.       really  will  be  glad  to  see  the  back  of  2007.   not  been  good  year,in  fact         bloody  awful.         apart  from  meeting  some  lovely  people  on  here                     thank  you  all            you  keep  me  sane.     and  one  in  particular.        thanks,you  know  who  you  are.   xxx       take  care  all

absent friends and family

took  wreath,and some more  holly  to  my  dads grave today,and  put  holly  and  ivy   on  grandparents.      looking  round  churchyard,  the  different  wreaths  looked  nice on  the  graves,some  were  obviously  expensive,others  more  simple,some  home  made   like  mine.   all  got  one  thing  in  common,  remembering  a  loved  one  at  christmas.  this is a  sad  time  of  year  for  those  who  have recently  lost someone  dear,and  i  feel  for  them.      im  feeling  very  down,  i  started  this  blog,because  i  wanted   to  give  a glimpse  into  what  being  a  carer  is,seem  often  to  have  gone  off  the  rails,but  i  asked  for  a   carers  assessment    over  5  months  ago,last  i  heard,was  going  to  be  another  8  weeks.  that  was  up  last  week,so  i  emailed  the  ladies  office  who  does  them,but,guess  what?  due  to  illness,staff  shortages,cutbacks, acts  of  god,it  will  now  be  the  new  year.  sometime.

      i  have  a  hospital  appointment  this  friday,with  the  neurologist  who  is  treating  me,hopefully he  will  have  the  answer  as  to  whether  i  do  have  MS,or  if  it's a viral  infection  of  the  spinal  chord.  i  had  a  lumbar  puncture  last  year,which  was  supposed  to  answer  that,but  i  been told  its        "inconclusive",which  is  really  annoying  because  i   would  not  have  gone  through  with  it,if  i  had known.  oh  well,sure  they  know  what  they  are  doing,  after  all.it's  only  been   7   years  since symptoms  started.     lol    

 will  keep  you   all  posted,  car  goes  in  thursday,for  tracking.  cutting the  inside  of  my  front  tyres.  same  day,housing  trust  health  n  safety,and contractors  foreman.are  coming  about  bathroom  door.so,hope  wont  take  long.        dont  know  when  i will  write   another  blog.                get  xmas  over  with,  take   care  all

hollys revenge

after  the  success  in  making  a  wreath  for the  door,i  decided  i  would  try  and  do  one  for  dads  grave  this  year,mainly  because  they  are  so  expensive,been  rather  an  expensive  month.    so,got  a  thick  piece  of  wire,taped  it  into a  loop,wired   xmas tree  branch cuttings   round,and  then,holly.     now,ive  got  some  lovely  holly,lot  of  berries  for  the  first  time,it  seeded  itself,i  never  planted  it,and  has  grown  into  a  nice  shaped  tree.  but           oh  boy,is  it  sharp.   very  prickly.anyway,i  got  my  hands  pricked  to  bits,but  finished  it,and  decided  to  put  in  my  car,ready  to  take  up  churchyard  monday.  as  i  walked  round,a  neibour  was  going  past  with 2  wreaths  in  his  hand,on his  way  to  churchyard.  so  we  had  a  compare.  lol   he  had  paid  £6  each,lot  smaller        3  manky  cheap  plastic  flowers.( mine    are  material  and  i  put  6  on )very  thin,no  berries  on  holly,and  was  very  complimentary  about  my  efforts.    rather  pleased   lol

  had   nice  lunch,mum  still  in  lot  of  pain,but  toe  looks  much  better,  really  hope  she  soon  fully  recovered.   take  care  all

torched or not

mums  toe  is  healing  slowly,chiropodist was  pleased  with  the  big  toe,just  small one   still  bad,nurse  came  and  dressed it,and  has  left  me   load  of  dressings,as  shes  now away   for  xmas  hols.  pleased  how  it  looks  and,give  her   her  due,has  done   good  job.

i sent  off long  letter  of  complaint  to  housing  trust  about bathroom  door,caught  my  bloody   toe  under  it.and  today,had  email  from  their  Health  and  safety  officer.  having a meeting  at  mine  soon  to  look  at  it.    good.

Now,please can  i  just  say  a  few  words  about  some  emails  that  are  being  circulated,there  are  several  variations,but  all  the  same  theme. that  basically,if  you  receive  an email, ( and  here  are   the  ones  i  know,marked    merry  christmas,happy  christmas,yule log,festive   greetings,happy  holidays,)  even  if  its  from  a  friend,dont  open it.  that  it  may  conceal  a  new  deadly  computer  virus.

  This  virus  is  supposed  to  be  called   an  "olympic  torch" virus,and  when  email  is   opened,it  immediately gets  into  your  adress  book,duplicates  itself,sends  itself  to  all  your  contacts,then ......................it  burns  out  sector Z  on  your  hard   drive.  there  is  no  known  defence,it  was  discovered  only  yesterday,CNN  calling  it  the  most  destructive  virus  ever,Mcafee  got  no  defence,Microsoft  are  in  a  panic.    sounds  awful.   and  it  asks  that  you  forward  the   warning  to  evryone  you  know.          AND  IT  IS  COMPLETE  GARBAGE.  THERE  IS  NO  SUCH  THING,NO  VIRUS,ENTER  OLYMPIC TORCH VIRUS  INTO  SEARCH,YOU  WILL  FIND  LOADS  OF  INFO.      COMPLETE  AND  UTTER  RUBBISH.

This  chain email  caught  me  out  last  year.  i  sent it  to  every  tom,dick  and  harriet  i  knew.                     my  face  was  red  for  weeks.   i  wasnt  alone.many  others  did  too.  then  it  was       osama bin laden  is  dead   email  title.  but   with  xmas  here,and  many  of  us  sending  greetings,its  particularly  nasty.  if  you  get  one  of  these  chain  mails,please  remember it  was  sent  to  you  in  good  faith,and  the  person  sending  it  is  not  to  blame.   take care all

in a spin

you hear  so many  horror stories  about  after   sales  service  of  big companies,so  it's a great pleasure  for me  to  say,well  done  Hooover Candy.their engineer  arrived  at  3.10,nice  friendly  chap,started  washing  machine,which  to   my  surprise    was  now  turning  the  drum,said   "  oh  yes,brushes  gone  in  motor",checked  on  his  laptop  that  i  had    full  cover  for   the  service  charges,parts   were  already  covered  by  hoovers   5  year  guarantee       that  id  taken  out,    (machine  5  years  old  in    jan.  lol)  went  to  his  van,came  back,and  5  minutes  later  was  putting  it  back  together.  total  time  at  mine,25  minutes,and  a  washing  machine  in  full  working  order.   so  that  is   one  piece  of  good  luck.             take  care  all

well   got   photo  on,but  no  space  for  text     ermmmm         anyway,the   wreath  on  my  front  door  i  made  today.   quite   proud.lol      in  case  you  wondering   2  reasons  for  the  white  paper,1)to  bounce   flash  off,very  dull  day.  and  2)  to  cover  my  door  number  up  lol           most  probably  visible  in  other  pics.but  why  advertise.  you  all  may  turn  up  wanting  a  coffee         lol.

took  mum  to  chiropodists,big  toe  is  healed  nicely,and  doesnt  need  dressing  anymore.  the  other   is  still  bad,and  full  of  gout.  so  thats  been  dressed  again.  

just  spent  an enjoyable  hour  filling  in  job  satisfaction  questionairre on  my   bathroom  door  for  housing  trust.  they  only  gave  a  small  box  for  comments.just  filled   up  an a4  sheet  with  long  letter.    i  can  get  my  hand  under  door.!!!!!   bloodt  daft.maybe  carpenter  thought  we  had  a  shag  pile  carpet  in   loo??  oh  well,take care all.  p.s.     just  found  out  how  to  add  text          lol          but  cant  be  bothered  to  change  it
