lot to catch up,not felt very well. last friday i had a phonecall, carpenter who origionally fitted (badly) my bathroom door.could he come and measure for new sliding door. he was horrified at the rubbish concertina affair, and told me the door he fitted had been cut to size for him before he brought it. someone measured wrongly. im cutting this short, basically the door opening is too wide,33 inch, and he will have to build it out with another lining before sliding door will fit. so,in other words, its got to be built out to 30 inches. how bloody daft is that. by my reckoning, its taken the following...........surveyor who i explained to,that wheelchair was just 1 inch too wide to go through, AA,who is the housing associations manager/health and safety officer, heating engineer to move pipes over a foot, another to move the thermostat onto other wall, the 2 dear sweeeet fellows who knocked the wall out, carpenter to fit linings and then back to fit door, flooring specialist to repair floor where wall was removed,AA and contractors manager to inspect faulty door, contractor to remove door, fit rubbishy concertina 1,decorator to gloss doorframe and lining, and to strip wall of ripped and torn wallpaper, surveyor to come out, inspect concertina door and agree finally to sliding door, and now carpenter who will be fitting it. all because the origional surveyor ignored my suggestion of removing door lining, plastering the opening, fitting sliding door, job done in under 4 hours. instead that is a total of at least 15 visits, god knows how much money wasted, and the result?? hopefully a door i can open and close safely, securely, and well fitted. won't be holding breath.
my run of lousy luck continues unabated. sunday lunch time,i had dished up,food on table, fancied a drink of cola.opened fridge, took out bottle, poured glass, took swig..........................ewwwwwww not cold in fact, far from. so,i opened the small ice box/freezer section, and i got niagra falls.lol i keep ice lolllies in that, with ice cubes, only now it was water and a sticky mess which poured out. fridge has packed up,i think thermostat or compressor motor. either way, took me 40 minutes to clean it out. i have been without a working fridge until today, milk was off this morning, cheese gone off, etc. luckily the chap i took xmas lunch too, offered me my old fridge i had given him (when i bought this new one 3 years ago )back. so my milk and more importantly cola is cold once more.
that was bad enough, then this morning i drove up to my local shop to get papers,as i do every morning,as i came home, only half mile or so,my clutch went,i was stuck in 2nd gear.luckily i got home with it. that will cost best part of 200 quid, which i really don't have. got to be done, just have to rob peter again to pay paul. shame paul wants his lol. oh well.
lucky it wasn't yesterday, mum went to chiropodists early, had to have more cutting out of toe,it is gout a lot of her trouble. toe been dressed, got to keep it on til friday when i will dress it for her. she really has suffered bless her. sad to see her hobbling about so painfully. ive got further to say,im posting this entry then am doing the next. no comments please til the next appears thankyou. make a cuppa first. my voice is going. and swallowing very difficult. joy. take care all.
